“Who does does Sin affect” (Part 1)

Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”

Let’s begin by defining what sin is. “ The voluntary departure of a moral agent from a known rule of rectitude or duty, prescribed by God; any voluntary transgression of the divine law, or violation of a divine command; a wicked act; iniquity. Sin is either an act in which a known divine law is violated, or it is the voluntary neglect to obey a positive divine command, or a rule of duty clearly implied in such command. Sin comprehends not action only, but neglect of known duty, all evil thoughts purposes, words and desires, whatever is contrary to God's commands or law.” (Websters Dictionary of the American English Language 1828)

James 4:17 “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.” So how does mankind know to good? We learn of this from the Word of God which the Bible says in John 1:9 “That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.” We have no excuse concerning sin, that is why Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, shed his blood on the Cross of Calvary, and Rose the third day. Still yet, many will not accept this way that God has made available to “Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” The Psalmist penned in Psalm 119:11, “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”

Sin does not seem to bother people much in these last days, which the Word of God tells us about in 2 Timothy chapter 3. But, we still do not have any excuse that will justify sin in our lives. {“For men shall be lovers of their own selves”}

Repentance is the key for forgiveness to the unsaved and I as a Christian need to keep a repentative heart so that I will not let any unconfessed sin be in my life. 1 John 1:5-9 says, “ This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

1Jn 1:6  If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:

1Jn 1:7  But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

1Jn 1:8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

1Jn 1:9  If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1Jn 1:10  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”

As a Christian, I do not want my heart to become hardened because of sin that is all around us but let’s remember what the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 5:20  “Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:”

First, I do not want sin to affect my life that I would become discouraged to fulfill what the Lord has called me to do and by the way Christian Friends, we all have some type of calling that the Lord would have us to do for the furtherance of his Kingdom. So it begins with me and who my actions will affect. (Family, Church, Community, Country) The second part will deal with others. May God continue to Bless You until the next writing. Bro. Shayne
