Matthew 16:13 When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?
14 And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets.
Jesus asked his disciples this question. who do ,men say I am? That is the question that man still wrestles with today. Today just as then many have different opinions of who Jesus is. But it really matters who you say that He is. Many think he was a good man, a good teacher and even a holy man. All are true but He was much more than these. He was the only begotten Son of God, the Saviour of men’s souls. To all that would believe in him and confess Him as Lord.
Here are three things that Jesus is.,
First of all he is our attonement:
Romans 5:11 And not only so but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus, by whom we have now received the atonement. Atonement means to reconcile. As we were separated from God by sin, Christ is our reconcilement with God.
The second thing Jesus is our advocate or intercessor with God:
In 1 John 2:1 scripture tells us “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous”.
He is our go between us and God.
Third He is our anchor that is unmovable and sure:
Hebrews 6:19 Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; He keeps us grounded and unmovable.
Not only is he these but He is much more. He is Messiah, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and the Prince of Peace plus many others.
The main thing is who do you say He is. If He is not your Savior then you are not saved. For Jesus is the way, the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but by Him.
Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
Whom you say Jesus is determines your eternal destination. Know Him as Saviour.
I appreciate Bro. Randy Maynord and always enjoy reading his postd about our Lord Jesus Christ. I will try and come back next time with something that the Lord may put on our heart. God Bless. Pastor Shayne Monday
