A Tribute to the Bible Part 2

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Psalm 119:11

The Word of God is left unto us by the scripture which has been given unto us as recorded in the Bible. The Apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians 4:15 …."for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.” From the Old Testament throughout the New Testament, the Bible has everything we need to understand how to be saved (Borned Again), live a Christian life pleasing unto God, and to be able to overcome all the sins that our enemy the devil throws against us. 2nd Peter 1:20-21 says, “Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost..” This Bible that we have is the Word of God given unto us by the Holy Ghost.

In this Part 2 of “A Tribute to the Bible”, I would like to use some verses that we find in Psalm 119.

  1. Psalm 119:11 “Thy word have I in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” The Bible will instruct us how to stay away from sin if we will obey it.

  2. Psalm 119:16 “I will delight myself in thy statues: I will not forget thy word.” The Bible will show us the Old Paths that we need to walk therein.

  3. Psalm 119:28 “My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word.” The Bible will give us joy, for the joy of the Lord is our strength.

  4. Psalm 119:41 “Let thy mercies come also unto me, O Lord, even thy salvation, according to thy word.” The Bible will be our strength in a time of trouble.

  5. Psalm 119:50 “This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.” The Bible teaches that in patience and comfort of the scriptures we have hope in the Lord.

  6. Psalm 119:67 “Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.” The Bible will correct us and keep us in the ways of the Lord when we accept it and do what it says.

In Part 3, I will finish with six more verses from this Psalm. God Bless. Bro. Shayne
