I read this and thought I would share on our page.

Anticipation

Acts 27:29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.

In the scripture above, they were trying to save the ship. They had put out four anchors trying to hold the ship steady. Then they wished for the day. This is talking about wishing for the next day, daylight so they could see where they were. They waited with anticipation to see what was to come. We are much like that today as we wait for a certain day or event. We wait with anticipation to see what that day or event brings our way. As I write this we are just a week away from our yearly Camp Meeting that is a week long event with singing, shouting, praising and preaching the old time way. I am waiting with anticipation to see what the Lord does at this meeting. I hope we see many souls saved, lives changed for all of eternity and those that have grown cold hearts revived and renewed once again. I really anticipate a move of God during this time and am waiting and watching to see what He does.

This meeting is good and all but there is another event I am watching for with great anticipation and that is the appearing of our Lord. We are told in scripture He will appear again. Some say this is not going to happen but if it is in the Bible it will happen just as it is written. You may not be able to count on a lot of things but the Word of God is true and every word spoken will come to pass.

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ.

Not only does it say He will appear but when He does we shall be like Him. That is if you are saved. Not everyone will be like Him, and have Jesus blood covering them.

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

There are some other things I am waiting with anticipation to see come to pass. I have friends and family that are not yet saved and I am praying and waiting to see the day that they come to the Lord and are saved. Some may not, but, they have the opportunity to be saved. I hope they will take advantage of what Jesus has done for them in paying their sin debt. All they have to do is accept what He did on the cross, for he died there for all. And scripture tells us that:

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

So you see I am waiting with anticipation for many things to happen? What are you anticipating? I hope first and foremost it is the return of the Lord for His church. If that isn’t your top priority then what is?
