Being a Good Soldier of Jesus Christ {Part 2}

2 Timothy 2:2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
Before Paul’s conversion, his reputation was one of being a persecutor of the Church (Acts 9:13….. “how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem.”) but after his conversion, his testimony (reputation) became “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” (1 Cor. 11:1)
A Good Soldier is one who believes in his duty (calling) that he has been entrusted with by the Heavenly Father.
“And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.” (Colossians 3:23-24)
A Good Soldier is an Ambassador for Christ.( Refer to this in 2 Cor. 5:20.) The definition for an Ambassador is this, “A messenger or representative who is sent to others.”
As Christians (Good Soldiers), we are to be an example to others outside of the Church walls but also, (another nugget), inside of it. The Church is made up of soldiers of all ranks and abilities and so it takes all to continue the “Training” of each one’s service to the Lord so that we may “Fight the Good Fight of Faith.” Meditate about this, If we all just sit, who will serve on the outside and on the inside? Who will - Preach,Teach, Give, Visit, Send a card, Sing, Prepare meals, Clean up, Maintenance, Bible School, Youth Days, Attend, Amen, Shout, Raise hands, Clap, Do the Media,Greet, Stand at the door, Usher, the Lord knows there is more and you and I know.
David said, “Is there not a cause?” (1 Sam. 17:29)
We are capable and equipped by the Grace of God to take our part and “teach others also”, and they are many others, the Word of God to show how Christ impacts our lives on a daily basis. (Praise the Lord)
Teach others, pass it on. God Bless.
