Being a Good Soldier of Jesus Christ {Part 3}
Tuesday, May 26, 2020
2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
The term “endure” contains many characteristics such as continuing, remain, abide, to bear, to suffer without yielding, and also not to break when pressure is applied. As a good soldier, we will face many hardships and difficulties in our Christian walk. We can’t fight opposition to our Christian beliefs alone, we have “The Captain of our Salvation”, Jesus Christ to lead us. (Hebrews 2:10 “For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”) With this being said, am I (We), dependable when the battle gets hot and the enemy is attacking with everything he has to try and get us to retreat and not to fight. Another nugget, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13) The Lord has given us the battle plan in his precious Word. Christ said in Matthew 10:22, “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the to the end shall be saved.” Remember this and put it in your arsenal of remembrance, “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, unmovable, alway abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (1 Cor. 15:58) Onward Christian Soldiers. God Bless.
