Consider your Ways

“Consider Your Ways”

Haggai 1:5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

Here the children of Israel had come back to Jerusalem and had rebuilt their houses but, had left the house of God in disarray Here the Lord speaks and tells them to consider their ways. They were more concerned about their own possessions than the Lord’s house.

Now let’s look at some ways we are told of in Scripture. There is a way.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

2 Peter 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.

These ways bring eternal destruction to those that have them.

Isa 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.

This is the way of righteousness. Next we have the way.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth and the life no man cometh to unto the Father but by me.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

These were the straight and narrow ways. Next we have those that have turned from the way to the worldly ways.

2 Peter 2:15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;

2 Pe 2:21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them

Proverbs 13:15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

Consider your ways and see if they line up with the Lord’s ways or man’s ways. If they don’t line up with God’s ways repent, and get on the way of righteousness.
