What Christians Agree On

The first thing I would like to say is, if a person is not a born again believer in Jesus Christ he is not a “True Christian.” A Christian must follow Christ. The first thing that must happen to be a Christian is to be Born Again. Christ said in John 3:7, “Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” Christ also said in Mark 1:15, “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” A definition of a Christian is, “One who believes, professes, follows and obeys the doctrine of Jesus Christ. There are things that all Christians may not agree on and still love one another but I am thinking about things that all Christians must be in unity of.

I. What Christians Agree On:

A. Creation : Genesis 1:1  “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

B. Love of God's Word: Psalm 119:140  “Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.”

C. Virgin Birth of Christ: Matthew 1:23  “Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”

D. Death of Christ: Luke 23:46  “And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.”

E. Resurrection of Christ: Matthew 28:6  “He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.”

F. Christ is the only Way: Acts 4:12  “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

John 14:6  “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

G. Blood of Christ: 1 John 1:7  “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

H. Repentance:1 John 1:9  “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Mark 1:15  “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”

I. Hell: Isaiah 5:14  “Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth, shall descend into it.”

Matthew 10:28  “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”

Luke 16:23  “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”

Mark 9:43  “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:”

Mark 9:44  “Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”

Revelation 20:14  “And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”

Revelations 20:15  “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

I love the verse from Psalm 133:1 and as a Christian and Pastor, I have found it to be TRUE. “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

May the Lord continue to Bless You until the next time.
