Prayer
Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
No matter what is taking place around us, we need to pray. Christ spoke a parable in Luke chapter 18, “that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;” I have found myself at times not praying without ceasing. The definition for ceasing is to stop, end, quit or to fail. I don’t want myself or any other child of God to let something hinder us from doing what Christ emphasized to be one of the most important duties and greater than that, a privilege that he has given us. When called upon or asked to pray for someone or a situation, I want to be in the right spirit and mindset to be able to do it. We all can be in this place if we continue in a consistent prayer life. David wrote in Psalms 55:17, “Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.” What a great promise of God that he will hear the prayer of the righteous. It is not selfish to begin by praying for our own family and then branch out from there. I need to keep my own house in order so that I can be a help to others. My family, your family, friends, neighbors, our country, and the stranger needs the borned again believers in Christ Jesus to pray for them. (Especially the unsaved). A nugget to put in your bag as I close, { 1 Peter 3:12 }. God Bless You and your Family. Pastor Shayne Monday.
