“What Christians agree upon”

1 Corinthians 1:10

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgement.

Let me begin by stating that the Apostle Paul wrote also in 1 Cor. 3:3 that there is a opposite to 1 Cor. 1:10 that we as Christians need to avoid. It says, “For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

So with this stated, here are some things that we as children of God should agree on according to the scriptures:

1. Creation (Genesis 1:1)

2. Love of God’s Word (Psalm 119:140), (John 1:1)

3. Virgin Birth of Christ (Matthew 1:23)

4. Death of Christ (Luke 23:46)

5. Resurrection of Christ (Matthew 28:6)

6. Christ is the only way for Salvation (Acts 4:12)

7. Must be borned again (John 3:7)

8. Blood of Christ (1 John 1:7)

9. Repentance (Mark 1:15) , (1 John 1:9)

10. Who shall not inherit the kingdom of God (Gal. 5:19-21) , (1 Cor. 6:9)

11. Jesus coming again (John 14:3)

    These are just some of the basic teachings of the scriptures that we should focus and agree on as brothers and sisters in Christ. They are probably many things we might not agree together on but, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.”

    In my next post, I have one other Scriptural teaching that I will focus upon for a short time. We ought to agree with this so that sinners will know the consequences of rejecting Christ as their Saviour.
