What I Know (Part 1)
1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
There are many things that I don’t know much about but they are some things that I do know without any doubts that helps me through the different battles that I face in my life. I am going to list several things that I rely on and I know that other borned again believers in Jesus Christ do also.
I know that I was saved when I believed upon the Lord Jesus Christ and asked him to forgive me of my sins. Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” 1 John 1:9, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
I know I have the victory to overcome the works of the flesh. 1 John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” Romans 10:17, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
I know that Jesus is the only way to Heaven. 1 John 5:12, “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father but by me.”
I know that we should love one another. 1 John 3:11, “For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1 John 3:14, “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brother. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” By the way we are to love “in deed and in truth.”(1 John 3:18)
I know that Jesus dwells within me and I am in him. 1 John 3:24, “And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.” Romans 8:16, “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”
